Icebergs in Yakutat Bay, like those in Glacier Bay, tell a story of their own...
They are pieces of freshwater ice broken off a glacier or ice shelf and floating free in saltwater.
Some are crystal clear while others show their history of grinding offs pieces of rock (moraine) as they passed as a glacier.
They often make nice resting spots for wildlife like seagulls and sealions.
